What I've learned from them is that to succeed in this role, one needs to be innovative, proactive, and direct in identifying the marketing tactics needed to effectively promote the brand/product.

Key traits you require:


Understand the ins and outs of multi-channel campaigns.


Examine current operations and processes, identify gaps, fill them, and put together a plan to build a stronger foundation.


Build trust within your marketing and sales teams.


Keep stakeholders in the loop. Communication is a key skill for this role.


A good strategy is based on considerable market research of your target demographic.


Revisit the principles of the 4 Ps and 7 Ps of marketing.


Establish marketing goals to guide marketing campaigns.


If you are wondering what degree you need to be a marketing professional, the answer is continuous and consistent learning.


Try to learn or explore something new every day.

In a nutshell, one must have a deep understanding of marketing channels, the ability to drive results, effective communication, and a solid educational background in marketing or related fields.
